Jo Helen Spradling, 51, of Dora High School in 1978, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. She was born July 22, 1964, and was a member of Burnwell Baptist Church, where she had served as the choir director.

Danny Ray Hodges, 54, of Bagley, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at his residence

 

Michal Duane Johnson Dora High School Class of 1978 passes away
Funeral Services for Mr. Michal Duane Johnson, age 51 of Bremen, will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, with Ronnie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Ryan's Creek Baptist Cemetery. Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman directing. Mr. Johnson passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at his residence. He was born on March 16, 1960 in Cook County , Illinois to Marchel and Oleta Chambers Johnson. He worked at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, in Cullman for 25 years. Survivors include his Wife of 22 years – Daphne Lucal Johnson; three 3 – Daughters – Stephanie Johnson, Brittany Johnson (Craig) Garmon and Natasha Phillips; one Son – Saylor Johnson; Parents – Marchel & Oleta Johnson; two 2 – Brothers – Darryl Johnson and Timothy Johnson; and Father & Mother-in-Law – Larry & Joyce Lucal. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tim Lee, Ricky Montgomery, Anthony McMann, Bubba Muncher, Frankie Hamby and Nick Ballard. You may also sign the guest book on-line at www.mossservicefh.com

 

Kim Harrison Price of Huntsville, formerly of Dora, died Friday, August 28 th 2009. She was 49.
Kim retired from South Central Bell and was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Harrison, and brother, Randy Harrison.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Price; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Joe Jinks; son, Joseph Kyle Thomas; mother, Mickie Harrison; stepchildren, Michael Price, Christian Wright, Seth Wright, Shelby Wright, and Ashley Wright; sister, Wendy Harrison Berry; two brothers, John T. Harrison and Lee Riley Harrison; and two grandchildren, Madeline Turner and Jacob Jinks.

 

Barry DaughteryDAUGHERTY, BARRY KALE, age 43, of Dora, AL, died November 2, 2003 at his residence. He was a tire store manager with Ross Neely Trucking Company and also served as Captain of the Dora Fire and Rescue Department. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Daugherty. Survivors include his wife, Donna Daugherty of Dora; daughter, Heather Louise Daugherty of Dora; son, Christopher Kale Daugherty of Dora; father and stepmother, William and Marzenia Daugherty of Shanghi; sisters, Patsy Dill (Ricky) of Sumiton, Lisa Clark (Dan) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Judy Daugherty and Tracy Elkins (Barry), all of Shanghi; brothers, Larry Daugherty (Christy) of West Jefferson, Ronnie Daugherty (Jody) of Oak Grove, Tony Daugherty (Cindy) of Warrior, Timmy Daugherty (Tina) of Jasper, and Ray Morgan of Sipsey; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Doug Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Shanghi Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. New Horizon Funeral Home directing.

 

TURMAN, RHONDA DEE WISE, age 45, of Sumiton passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005 at her residence. She was a member of East Walker Church of Christ. She was previously employed with Hayes Aircraft and also as a photographer with the Daily Mountain Eagle Rhonda WiseNewspaper, The Community News and Dickerson Studios. She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Wise and her grandparents, Earl and Louise Wise and Sarah Jane Knight. Survivors include her husband, Larry Turman; two daughters, Chelsea Turman and Julian Maleá Turman; her mother, Betty Knight Wise; her sister, Tonya Wilson and her husband Mickey all of Sumiton; a niece, Heather and her husband Craig Washington and their children Anna Reece and Wilson; a nephew, Christian Wilson; her grandmother-in-law, Audrey Turman and aunt and uncle Donald and Peggy Turman; several other nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at East Walker Church of Christ, with Mr. Barry Bennett officiating. She will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
