The Dogs Take Down Hueytown Golden Gophers

The Dora Bulldogs faced good competition with the 6A Hueytown Golden Gophers on Thursday night at Dora High Gymnasium. The first game saw the Junior Varsity Bulldogs defeat Hueytown by the score of 53-45. Leading scorer for the JV Bulldogs was Derrick Ellington with 12 points. The Lady Bulldogs took care of business, as they defeated the Lady Gophers 48-44. The leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs was Chantrese Softley with 21 points. In the final game, the Varsity Bulldogs defeated the Hueytown Golden Gophers by the score 71-46. The MVP of the game for the Bulldogs was Lavertis Towns with a game high 39 points. The Varsity Bulldogs (2-1) are on the road this Saturday as they compete in the Tupelo Kiwanis Classic at 12 noon against Mantachie High School, Mississippi.
