Dora
No Stranger to State Playoffs
by Glenn Allen Bobo
Our Dora Bulldogs are no strangers to the state playoffs, but it's
somewhat rare that Dora advances to the round of eight. In fact, 2006
marks only the 5th time the 'Dogs have made it this far. Here's a
history of Dora in the playoffs, as compiled from the Alabama High
School Athletic Association's web site (http://www.ahsaasports.com/football/playoffrecords/results.asp)
First time: 1978 - lost 21 - 15 to Gardendale in the first round (16
teams) of the class 3A playoffs (4A was the largest division)
1983, 3A, lost to Colbert County 34 - 0 in first round (round of 16)
1984, 5A (1st year of 1A - 6A) Lost first round to Demopolis 34 -
7. Field expanded to 32 teams in first round.
