Bulldog Band Update
November 2006
The DHS Band went to the 3rd Anual Pirate Classic Marching Band Contest in Winfield, Al Sat. Oct 28th. The band received all superior ratings and brought home a Best in Class for Percussion. In addition to these, they brought home the 3rd place overall band trophy. Congratualtions to our DHS Marching Bulldog Band!!!!! We are so proud of you. Also, we would like to thank Mr. Don Jones, because it is with his leadership these kids were able to achieve these awards.

Octobber 2006
On Oct. 14th,2006 the DHS Bulldog band participated in the Peach Blossom Band Festival in Chilton County. The band brought home all superior ratings and two very special items. The Band and Color Guard were named "Best in Class". These kids have worked very hard this year and we are so proud of them. Their next competition will be on Oct. 28th, in Winfield Al. Contrats on a job well done!!!!

Last Sat. some of the DHS band went to UAB and attended UAB All Star Band Day.
These students get to spend the day with UAB's Blazer Band. They learn music and have a great time. That night they got to perfom with the Blazer Band on the field at halftime. It is a long day, but if you ask these kids "Would you do it again" the answer is YES. These are the students who attended:
David Howard, Andy Meininger, Breanna Tucker, Ashley Dale, Josh Versailles, Tyler Flemming, Ashley Freeman, Heather Freeman, and Amber Langley. Sue Samuels, the director of bands at UAB is also shown..
