Keeping the Alumni in Touch

Timothy Sumner Robinson Forum Slated for April
Tim Robinson was a graduate of Dora High School Class of 61 and he was also a friend ofTimothy Sumner Robinson mine. He passed away in 2003. Tim is an example of someone who grew up in a small town going on to do remarkable things. I got the note below from Michael Robinson who asked me to put this note on the website. It's an honor to announce the Timothy Sumner Robinson Forum which will be held April 11th 2006 at Samford University in Birmingham. More information to follow.
I am happy to inform you of a great honor for a Dora High School alumnus. My wife, Carolyn, and I just returned from Washington, DC where we finalized the first annual Timothy Sumner Robinson Forum. We met with Washington Post and Samford University people. Samford University in cooperation with the Washington Post will host the Timothy Sumner Robinson Forum. The Washington Post will provide the speaker and Samford University will host the event. The Washington Post participation is to honor Tim's contribution to journalism and to their newspaper. The first speaker will be Pulitzer Prize winning columnist, and Tim's colleague, David Broder. In addition, the Washington Post will sponsor an annual intern fellowship in Tim's name for a Samford journalism student.
Although not required, we would like to know those interested in attending because this will help Samford in selecting the building in which to host the forum.
Our family is grateful to the Washington Post and Samford University for this honor.
