Festival and Chili Cookoff a Huge Success The first annaul Frog Festival and Chili cookoff was a huge success. Informal counts put the crowd at 5000. The Frog Festival T-Shirts sold out before lunch. The festival had Antique Jack, a clown, a kid area, pony rides, Arts and Crafts, and music from noon until dark. The Chili Cookoff had a ton of entries but the women won the day when the tasting was done. Eleven year old Erica Williams from Albertville won first place. Jessica Sutherland of Curry took second place honors and Jan Williams of Dora won third place. The City of Sumiton blocked off main street and set up food and crafts vendors on both sides of the street. It was a beautiful day for a festival and the crowd seemed to enjoy the festival a great dea. Click here for more photos of the event. |
